The math
- Added units = units sold in a promotion week − units sold in a normal week.
- Profit without the promotion = normal units × (regular price − unit cost); profit with it = promotion units × (promotion price − unit cost) − signs and fees.
- Return = profit with the promotion − profit without it. Below zero, the promotion week made less than a normal week.
